Cinema 4D Script: Select_Loft

■ About "Select_Loft"

"Select_Loft" is a Cinema 4D utility script that scans the entire scene to detect and select all Loft Objects, which are one of the Generator types in Cinema 4D.

■ Main Features

● Selects all Loft Objects

This script recursively searches through all objects in the scene and selects any object of type c4d.Oloft.

● Deselects all previously selected objects

Before selecting Loft Objects, the script clears the current selection so that only Loft Objects remain selected.

■ Installation

Go to Extensions > Scripts > User Scripts > Open Script Folder,

then copy the two files from the Select_Loft folder into that location.

■ How to Use

Run Select_Loft from Scripts > User Scripts.

All Loft Objects in the scene will be selected.

■ How to Add to a Palette

Go to Window > Customization > Customize Commands

Type Select_Loft into the Name Filter in the Command Manager

Drag and drop the script into a desired palette

Close the Customize Commands window

Go to Window > Customization > Save as Startup Layout

■ Notes

This script targets only Loft Objects (c4d.Oloft). Other generators like Extrude, Lathe, or Sweep are not included.

The search is recursive, so nested Loft Objects will also be selected.

Undo is not supported, so it’s recommended to save the scene before executing the script if needed.

■ Remarks

Loft Objects are ideal for smoothly connecting multiple splines into complex forms, but can become hard to locate in large projects.

This script enables you to quickly isolate and select Loft Objects for editing, deleting, or conversion.

It’s also useful for batch-checking settings like "Create Single Object" in versions prior to R21, and for performing mass modifications efficiently.
