 Cinema 4D Script: Select_Sweep

■ About "Select_Sweep"

"Select_Sweep" is a utility script that scans the entire scene to find and select all Sweep Objects in Cinema 4D.

It is especially useful when working on cable, tube, or hose modeling where Sweep is frequently used.

■ Main Features

● Selects all Sweep Objects

All objects of type c4d.Osweep (Type ID: 5118) are detected recursively across all hierarchies and selected automatically.

● Deselects all other objects

Before selection, the script clears any current selection so that only Sweep Objects are selected.

■ Installation

Go to Extensions > Scripts > User Scripts > Open Script Folder,

then copy the two files from the Select_Sweep folder into that location.

■ How to Use

Run Select_Sweep from Scripts > User Scripts in the menu.

All Sweep Objects in the scene will be selected.

■ How to Add to a Palette

Go to Window > Customization > Customize Commands

Type Select_Sweep into the Name Filter in the Command Manager

Drag and drop the script into a desired palette

Close the Customize Commands window

Go to Window > Customization > Save as Startup Layout

■ Notes

This script targets only Sweep Objects (c4d.Osweep). It does not include Extrude, Lathe, or Loft objects.

All nested objects within hierarchies are scanned recursively.

Undo is supported for one step only. Saving your scene before execution is recommended.

■ Remarks

Sweep Objects allow you to create complex shapes by combining a profile spline and a path spline.

This script helps you instantly isolate all Sweep Objects in a project for easy editing, deleting, or converting.

It is especially helpful for checking settings like "Create Single Object" in versions prior to R21, or for applying bulk modifications across Sweep Objects.
